This blog is to show support for French immersion in Terrebonne Parish and to dispel myths about French immersion.
According to the United States Census of 2000, 10,275 people or 10.66% of the population of Terrebonne Parish speaks French. Some children are still learning to speak French at home as their first language. However, this area has been neglected in language revival efforts.
